Family University Network
Membership Agreement
Membership in the Family University Network (FUN) is limited to person(s) and family member(s) who have received Christ (John 1:12) and desire to be transformed by the renewing of their mind (Romans 12:2) by developing a Biblical perspective in all aspects of faith and knowledge.
2. Beyond the yearly membership fee, each member aggrees to participate in the network. For example, one could publish an article in the Family University Journal, host or attend a Christian Home Educators Entrepreneurship conference, offer a class, participate in a class, or choose other avenues of mutual edification (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
3. Each member understands that Bartlett University is "redefining the university for future generations" (Psalms 78:6-7), which includes demonstrating and exposing the fact that government sanctioned authorizations based on accreditation violates biblical limited government principles (Romans 13:3), breeds government funding dependence, requires minimum standards and thereby promotes minimum learning, does not provide the best quality control, is not linked to better learning, stymies innovation, homogenizes and secularizes education, and restricts the biblical free market in education thereby causing people to pay more for less value while minimizing healthy competition. We stand with many Christians schools in this matter who also recognize that accepting accreditation places the state above God in education, which, over time leads to the dying of the initial Christian light. 4. Bartlett University operations providentially fulfill the Montana Law (Matthew 5:17, MCA 20-25-107, 2003) by not issuing "...any degree or such similar literary honors as are usually granted by universities or colleges..." Members are responsible to see learning as its own reward (Proverbs 4:7) and demonstrate their own genuine capabilities and character to others, as needed, through developing and maintaining their own resume, portfolio, and or curriculum vita.
5. Accessing Bartlett University or the Family University Network from jurisdictions that consider this access illegal is to be considered "at your own risk."
6. Since all FUN members have Christ living in them (Colossians 1:27) and understand that the Bible blesses peacemakers (Matthew 5:9, Hebrews 12:14) they are required to resolve disputes with each other in private, when possible, or within the Christian community ( Matthew 5:23-24, Matthew 18:15-20, and I Corinthians 6:1-8). Therefore, members agree that any claim or dispute arising from any aspect of this membership, either between members or between Bartlett University and members, shall be settled by Biblical mediation using the Rules of Procedure for Christian Conciliation (http://www.hispeace.org/html/geticrul.htm#arbitration) via the Peacemaker Ministries (http://www.HisPeace.org). Each member agrees that these methods shall be the only remedy for any controversy or claim stemming from this membership and waive their right to file a lawsuit against another member or against Bartlett University. Each party to a dispute agrees to bear the cost of their own arbitrator, half of the cost of any neutral arbitrator, and half of any other arbitration expenses.
7. All member teachers are expected to integrate Biblical thinking into their teaching and operate as free agents. The FUN specializes in the FUN network development, learner advising, and teacher support. BU operates independently, as one of the family universities in the FUN.
8. The Membership Agreement will be updated occasionally and each member is responsible for keeping abreast of changes.
9. By purchasing or otherwise receiving membership access to the Family University Network, the member conveys his or her agreement with and understanding of the above conditions and procedures.
