Dr. Bartlett's Comments with quotes and references on Smart Growth is a strategy to remove private property rights from the control of individuals and place it under the control of central planners toward socialist ends. This is affecting property rights on many fronts, from the placement of road signs to increasing city population densities and reducing rural populations. "From a few academics and environmentalists to the media, state and local officials, and high-level federal officials of all ideologies and party affiliations, this misguided vision has spread despite overwhelming evidence that it does not work. The persistence of these beliefs despite all facts to the contrary is a tribute to the power of a fashionable idea favoring federal intervention, however illogical it may seem in practice and experience." Michael Coffman "Communitarianism puts the rights of the community "at large" over the rights of the individuals living in the community. This is the entire foundation for anything communitarian. Global communitarians came to the U.S. to "shore up the moral, social and political environment." They came to "balance" American's selfish individualism (and outdated and dangerous nationalism) against their definition of the collective good." Niki Raapana
Gas Prices are more related to legislation than most people typically consider. The idea of going green also know as sustainable development is legislatively locking away natural resources and taking away private property rights and promoting global socialism, which we are paying for through higher gas prices. "The environment is just the excuse to convince unaware Americans to give up their liberties to 'save the earth." It's the environmental regulations that are the root cause of the high gas prices, which can be addressed by state legislators. Energy development has been hibited by regulations, taxes and litigation. . References 1 2 3 4 5 Global Warming is a clever strategy to bring about world socialism, not protect people or the planet. "Fear is constantly generated by politicians to rally the support of the people. Environmentalists go back and forth, from warning about a coming ice age to arguing the grave dangers of global warming." (Ron Paul) "The real goal is the reordering of society and the economy." (Tom DeWeese) Gay Marriage is a symptom of the government's larger effort to redefine the family. "What seems inescapable is that the very issue of gay parenting has arisen as the direct and perhaps inevitable consequence once government officials got into the business - which began largely with [no-fault] divorce - of distributing other people's children." (Stephen Baskerville). References 1 2 Abortion is murder and should always be illegal (Exodus 20). The eugenics movement is promoting the downsizing of the population through several means including abortion. Doctors are not in the position to decide who will live, that is God's role. People are not animals, therefore should not be treated as animals by doctors. Making abortion illegal will solve the ND out-migration problem and encourage economic development. Abortion has a long history. North Dakota need to act like a state and not a subsidiary of the federal government. "To embrace anything but a “no exception” policy in opposition to abortion is to condone infanticide. Historically and biblically, the greatest judgments have been reserved for those nations which embrace perversion and child sacrifice." (Doug Phillips) "Among surgeons' tools there is a certain instrument that is formed with a nicely adjusted flexible frame for first of all opening the uterus and then keeping it open. It also has a circular blade, by means of which the limbs within the womb are dissected with careful, but unflinching care. Its last appendage is a blunted or covered hook, by which the entire fetus is extracted by a violent delivery. There is also a copper needle or spike, by which the actual death is brought about in this treacherous robbery of life. From its infanticide function, they give it the name, "killer of the infant" - which infant of course, had once been alive." ( Tertullian, circa AD 210). "Even the proposal to prohibit all abortions except in cases of rape, incest, and threat to the life of the mother, is based on the assumption that the killing of a baby in the womb of a mother is legal, even though the baby has done nothing to deserve death. Such a compromise of the principle of the sanctity of innocent human life presupposes that abortion should remain legal...In short, the pro-life forces have unwittingly adopted strategies that reinforce the opposition’s rhetoric and undermine their own..." "Since Roe v. Wade, pro-life strategies have been based upon the premise that the Supreme Court’s opinion in that case is the Supreme Law of the Land. Therefore, short of a constitutional amendment or Court reversal, it has been assumed that federal, state, and local officials - executive, legislative, and judicial - must conform their actions concerning abortion to rules handed down by the courts. This working premise is erroneous. It is both unwise and unconstitutional." (Herbert Titus)
